Ladore CYC Camp started in 1980 to give young people an opportunity to study God's word together. More than four decades later, that mission remains the heart of what we do. Held in North-Eastern Pennsylvania, Ladore is a weekend of winter fun, good friendships, and a strong tie to God's word.
Ladore CYC Camp is a Bible retreat held for Christadelphian youth circles near and far. The camp is held on the first weekend of February each year, offering young people an opportunity to gather together and study God's word while building genuine relationships.
What began as a small gathering in 1980 run by brothers and sisters in the New England area has grown into an annual tradition that brings together Christadelphian youth from around the eastern US and Canada. Since it started, Camp Ladore has been run by brothers and sisters around the mid-Atlantic area. Each year, campers leave with a deeper understanding of Scripture and friendships that last a lifetime.
Camp Ladore has been held at the Ladore Retreat and Conference Center every year since it began in 1980. Camp Ladore provides comfortable cabins, a Main Activity Building for classes and gatherings, and the Carousel dining hall. The facility offers everything we need for a meaningful weekend together.
Ladore is open to Christadelphian young people and friends who are turning 12 years old or older on the date of the camp.
Each year, a presenter is invited to speak on a topic that will help encourage and guide the young people on their walk towards God's Kingdom. The presenter will lead three sessions on Saturday morning, a Sunday School session, and provide an Exhortation on Sunday. In addition to these sessions, there will be organized games on Friday and Saturday night. Campers will also enjoy free time to hike, play sports, board games and do crafts.
Ladore is organized and run by local Christadelphian volunteers and is funded by several local Christadelphian ecclesias in the Mid-Atlantic and New England area. Currently, the Baltimore ecclesia holds and manages Camp Ladore's funds in trust. Throughout its history, Ladore has been organized by couples from around the Mid-Atlantic and New England ecclesias.
One of the main goals of Camp Ladore is to encourage bonds between young people in our community. With this goal in mind, we use our social media to encourage and build those connections by providing information about upcoming camps and service opportunities.
